Then I learned to dress smartly every day, even when cultivating a shabby student look. One must be PUT TOGETHER. On the Métro, in line for the movies, it is extremely important to be chic as you will be studied from head to toe. And then back again from toe to head. It is not rude to do this. The Kenzo window is extremely chic: bold, adventurous, and maybe too daring for us to wear. But look how fabulous it is. The line stays outrageously creative through the years.
