Looking for an English hair salon in Paris? Here’s a tip. Emma Horsley— a top stylist who amassed a loyal following of clients when she worked at Style Pixie— has opened her very own salon. For years, in-the-know Anglophone expats flocked to Style Pixie, owned by Australian Vicky Nelson, before she sold the business last year. Having perfected her skills in London, Emma served as Master Hair Designer and Salon Manager for seven years. Now Emma is the proud Creative Director at Sequence Paris, which opened in November 2017 on a quiet street in the Latin Quarter. The salon is just a short stroll from rue Mouffetard, the ancient market street that’s brimming with gourmet specialties, so often clients will combine a morning salon appointment with lunch on Le Mouff’. Emma spent a long time scouting real estate in Paris before finding this lovely, light-filled space on rue des Lyonnais. Then commenced an extensive renovation project, which involved gutting the interiors, adding a bathroom, sourcing the decor and painting. Behind the facade, painted an inviting blue, you’ll find a friendly, welcoming salon for your specialty hair services (cut, color, blow dry) plus grooming needs (waxing, brow tint). Fully bilingual, Emma is also recruited to do styling at weddings. Emma’s loyal clients don’t just love the expert styling, but they also appreciate the grooming tips and know-how that’s generously passed along: which shampoos to buy, vitamins to stimulate hair growth, brushing and blow drying advice. By appointment only, Sequence Paris is open every day of the week except Sundays and Mondays. Accessible by public transport: For clients coming from the suburbs, the RER station is Port Royal, while the closest metro stations are Gobelins (line 7) and Censier-Daubenton (line 7).
