Ritz Paris Christmas Chalet on Place Vendôme
One of the most elegant addresses in the French capital, Place Vendôme is home to the Ritz Paris. Until January 5th, it’s also home to a Christmas Chalet serving decadent creations by Ritz Paris Pastry Chef François Perret. Having recently won the award of best restaurant pastry chef of the world, this is one holiday festivity not to be missed! Every day from 3 to 8pm, Le Chalet de Noel is serving up sweet treats including chocolate and hazelnut puff pastry, and cinnamon-rich apfelstrudel, all made on the spot. Their gingerbread cake also merits a tasting. But it’s their signature hot chocolate, a heavenly indulgence made of 70% Venezuelan cocoa, that can’t be missed. You might even find François Perret at the helm! The “So Ritzy” formula for 15€ offers the choice of pastry plus chocolat chaud. There’s also plenty to take away, should you be heading to a holiday soirée. Pick up François Perret’s famous marble cake for the serious dessert aficionados, and a chocolate teddy bear for the younger connoisseurs. Their chocolate keys are also a sweet idea. If you’d rather create your own decadent dessert, sign up for a pastry class at the Ritz Escoffier School. By the hand of skilled chefs translating from French to English, you’ll learn to make madeleines filled with an assortment of flavors, heavenly macarons, sweet tarts, or discover the art of making chocolate. What better gift for yourself or the sweet tooth in your life. The school also offers savory cooking classes for the aspiring chefs.
