Photo of the Week – September 22

A very fashion forward photo seemed appropriate to celebrate the upcoming events of Paris Fashion Week 2012. The runway shows (or défilé de mode in French) featuring looks for the Spring/Summer 2013 season will start next week. This photograph, published in 1919, features two lovely ladies dressed to the nines at the Longchamp, a horse racing field in a chic western neighborhood of Paris. Big hats, the layering of textures and gladiator-esque footwear seem like trends we’ve seen some of in recent times.
