Today’s photo was taken at the Festival de Cannes in 1979. That year, Apocalypse Now and Le Tambourwere honored with Palme d’Or awards. The annual festival, usually held in May, was founded in 1946 and has become one of the most celebrated and most publicized film festivals in the world. I like the composition that we see here – the photographer made the interesting decision to crop part of the posing starlet, making the paparazzi photographers the main subject. And their analog film and video cameras are also a reminder of the pre-digital photography world!
