Photo of the Week – January 31, 2014

I took this photo in Marseille last weekend. I was at the Plages du Prado, a seaside park in a neighborhood to the south of the city. The 83 bus took me from the Vieux-Port along la Corniche duPrésident-John-Fitzgerald-Kennedy, a curvy boulevard situated on the coast with amazing views of the Mediterranean Sea. I got off at Plages du Prado and wandered over to the water’s edge. That January day was sunny and beautiful, but the mistral (the strong and cold wind known to the region) wasdefinitely in the air as well. I was surprised to see swimmers running into the turquoise waves.
