To celebrate the beginning of this year’s French Open, or Roland Garros, Perrier has set up a zip-line from the second floor of the Eiffel Tower to L’École Militaire. Willing participants will be hurled floor-ward, reaching speeds of 90kph, in a brain-scrambling descent lasting roughly a minute, depending on the variable wind conditions/how much tartiflette you ate this winter.
But what on earth does that have to do with tennis you ask? Surely this is just a PR stunt by a company who made their millions selling benzene flavored water to yuppies in the 80s, you might add. Well you would be wrong. Because 90kph is the average speed of a tennis serve; hence the zip-line being called Le Perrier Smash. It’s all very scientific.
Anyway, who cares? What’s important is that we now have the opportunity to zip-line off the second floor of the Eiffel Tower.
The zip-line is free and will be operating from 5th to 11th of June. All you have to do is sign up on the Perrier website here.
