There’s a lot to love at the Centre Pompidou this summer. Artist David Hockney has made a splash with an important exhibition, not to mention the jardin perché– the perched ephemeral “garden” of geometric shapes– by Bernard Lassus on the museum’s south terrace.
But here’s another reason to make a beeline to the renowned museum this month. Christophe Michalak, the famed pastry chef and TV personality, has set up a food truck on the parvis de Centre Pompidou. You can taste treats like the signature kosmiks and Miss K tarts, marshmallow bears (the ice cream version!), moelleux au chocolat… not to mention the homemade ice cream and sorbet prepared in the chef’s laboratory.
Michalak’s creations aren’t just for sweet tooths; you can also order lunch items like salads, sandwiches and quiches. There’s a terrace, shaded by parasols, that can accommodate 25 people. If you can’t snag a seat, join the crowds of picnickers who love this spot in front of the Marais museum.
The Michalak food truck will be on location until September 30, 2017. Open from 11 am to 6 pm. Closed Sundays. Prices from 4,5 euros.
