June Hotel Buzz: Rooftop Terraces, River Cruises and More
This month Paris’s hotels are inviting us all to enjoy the summertime with plenty of good food, good wine, and– after a stormy start to the month– hopefully some sunshine! Hôtel Plaza Athénée Those looking for some Californian sunshine need only head to Avenue Montaigne this summer, as the Hôtel Plaza Athénée enjoys a visit from sister property The Beverly Hills Hotel. The hotel will be bringing its iconic Cabana Café to La Terrasse Montaigne for a very special pop up, which will recreate laid-back West Coast glamour right in the centre of Paris. The terrace will be redecorated in Cabana Café’s green and white striped seats, complete with banana leaf print cushions, and four signature dishes from the café will also be added to the menu. Guests can also enjoy a selection of all-American milkshakes and five sunny cocktails as they sit back and soak up the sun, which will be available throughout summer from midday to midnight. Hotel des Grands Boulevards Just in time for warmer weather, the recently launched Hotel des Grands Boulevards has announced the opening of The Shed, “un jardin caché” at the hotel, offering guests a more secluded spot for a sunny apéro. Located on the 4th floor to take you up and away from the bustle of the boulevard, the new terrace comes complete with a garden shed-turned-bar which will be serving the hotel’s signature cocktails and own homemade cold brew coffee all summer long. OFF PARIS SEINE The first hotel and bar in Paris located on the water, OFF PARIS SEINE already offers guests the chance to enjoy a year-round terrace floating on the Seine. However, for the summer, the hotel also invited “La Mer à Boire” on the dock to offer a new marine-inspired menu. Guests can relax on the terrace indulging in oysters from Brittany and glasses of champagne, or perhaps crab rolls, salmon gravlax, and rillette washed down with a specially selected range of wines. On sunny days OFF PARIS SEINE will also be offering guests the chance to leave the Marina and head out onto the water aboard the Green River Cruises fleet. Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris For families, Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris has recently launched a unique new experience to keep the kids entertained throughout the summer. Those looking for adventure can now book a two-night stay at the hotel, complete with a Land Rover Range Rover driving experience for children and teens. A professional driver will come and pick you up at the hotel to take you to an automobile circuit one hour outside of the city, where kids will be able to get behind the wheel whilst brave mom or dad watch from the backseat. Also, don’t forget Father’s Day on June 17th, when the hotel’s restaurant La Cuisine will be hosting a special pop-up brunch with Studio Harcourt Paris. Melia La Défense Boasting one of the most stunning views of Paris, the Skyline Bar at Melia La Défense has recently reopened after a refurbishment. For those who work in La Défense it makes the perfect place for an after-work apéro, with a new menu of summery signature cocktails, Spanish-inspired sharing plates, and of the course an incredible backdrop of Paris as the sun sets.
