Calling all Fauchon fans. Word on the street is that the famous gourmet store– a mecca for foodies on the Place de la Madeleine– is planning to open a luxury hotel in the neighborhood. The old Baccarat shop on Place de la Madeleine at the corner of Boulevard Malesherbes is getting a makeover (to the tune of 40 million euros) and Fauchon will turn it into a pied-à-terre with 50 guest rooms.
Now the question every food-obsessed traveler wants to know… Will the hotel serve Fauchon’s signature éclairs (like the magnificent Paris-Brest) at turn-down service? Or perhaps some tins of foie gras and caviar will be hidden away inside the mini bar? We’ll have to wait until 2017 to find out…
Fauchon’s boutiques on the Place de la Madeleine are open from 10 am to 8:30 pm, Monday-Saturday.
