Event Description

“Propaganda is a truly terrible weapon in the hands of an expert.” —Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, 1924

Hitler certainly recognised the power behind propaganda, appointing one of his most loyal followers, Joseph Goebbels, to create a maelstrom of pro Germanic and antisemitic media forms.

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day by opening a special French language version of its exhibition State of Deception: The Power of Nazi Propaganda at the Paris Town Hall.

The importance of understanding propaganda has perhaps never been more important than today, in what is being called the ‘Post-truth’ era; Where ISIS convert the young online, and western politicians tell blatant lies with apparently no consequence to their electability.

The exhibition is free.
