Agnès Thurnauer, Correspondances at Musée Cognac-Jay
Event Description
The charming Marais museum, housed in a lovely mansion, will stage an exhibition that offers a unique dialogue between Agnès Thurnauer’s contemporary work and 18th-century art. The idea? To shed new light on the period and highlight its current resonance. The artist engaged in “correspondence” with masters such as François Boucher, Jean-Honoré Fragonard, Canaletto, and emblematic female figures like Adélaïde Labille-Guiard, Louise Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun, and Angelica Kauffmann, as well as writers and scientists such as Madame de Staël and Émilie du Châtelet.
