Eiffel Reflection

La Tour Eiffel on a rainy day After I waited under a store awning for an April shower to pass, I strolled along rue Saint Saëns in the 15th arrondissement. A puddle caught my eye with its reflection of that most iconic of Paris icons, the Eiffel Tower. I searched for the best puddle and then squatted down low to get the best angle. I learned early on in my photography career to always look at different ways to see and shooting from down low or up high changes the viewer’s perception dramatically. This was shot with my iPhone approximately one inch above the ground. At the moment i clicked this woman appeared in the frame and magically the top of the frame reveals that it is, in fact, a reflection because we see only her feet facing right side up. Technical Details – iPhone 3Gs, photographed with the Hipstamatic App and adjusted with the Photoshop Express App to change exposure and contrast, and then converted to black and white.
