Notre Dame Sunrise

The first moment of sunrise overlooking Notre Dame from the Rue Cardinal Lemoine on a late winter day is perfect because the sun is horizontal and gives an incredibly enchanting warm orange glow which lasts two or three minutes. In Paris we are surrounded by incredibly beautiful architecture which always seems, to me, as if it were built in a way to perfectly embrace the natural light that is graced upon each building at different times of the year. I appreciate instantly in this photo the tension between the iconic symbol of Notre Dame that we have seen thousands of times balanced with the apartments on the left overlooking the Seine.
